Beaded Purse Making Seminar
The Daughters of Mary Immaculate International, St. Francis of Assisi circle, once again fulfilled their mission thrust of uplifting women workers with the recently concluded free training seminar on beaded purse making last December 5 and 6, 2019. The event was held at the formation center of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Ma-a, Davao City with seventy-five (75) beneficiaries of the training. Unemployed women, single mothers, DMII members, and women who just wanted to learn the craft for a living made up the group. The attendees were given free starter kits for them to start, lunch and snacks for the two-day event.
Sis. Emma Palanca, Vicarial Regent of the Diocese of Davao and the coordinator on upliftment of women workers for Region XIII Archdiocesan of Davao spearheaded the planning and preparations of the activity in close coordination with Sis. Ingrid Veloso, SFAP circle Regent and the DMII Sisters in their respective committees.
The big event was a huge success through the support and generosity of our sponsors namely: Barangay Council of Maa, Maa Parish Multipurpose Cooperative (MPMC), and the Cooperative Federation of Davao City.
The highlights of the event were the awarding of Certificates of Attendance and kits to the successful participants, awarding of Certificates of Appreciation, plaque, and token to our generous sponsors and supporters, the awarding of special prizes to the three fastest beaded purse makers of the group, and the raffle. The culminating program was held at the St. Claire hall of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Everyone had so much fun in the two-day event. The DMIIs felt fulfilled that once again, the mission thrust was realized and delivered to those who need it the most.
