SFX Tibungco Celebrates 54th Parochial Fiesta

Feasts are celebrated to give thanksgiving to the Lord Almighty for all the blessings received and partaken of. Individually, we have something to be thankful for. As a community in our GKKs, as parishioners in one parish, we all have something to be grateful for. With the intercession of our Saints, we have prayers and supplications to ask from God that we should thank for. One of these things is the gift of our CHRISTIAN FAITH which we first received during our baptism, strengthened during our Confirmation and is continually nourished when we receive the body and blood of Christ in the celebration of the Eucharist.

This is part of the homily of Msgr. Paul Cuison in the celebration of Saint Francis Xavier’s 54th Parochial Fiesta Mass which he presided over last December 3, 2019.

This year’s fiesta theme “Francisco Javier: Sumbanan sa makanunayon ug matinud-anong pagsangyaw sa Maayong Balita; sa pulong ug buhat…” is a reminder that we too should be like St. Francis Xavier. We should be inspired and be challenged to spread the good news.

Just like St. Francis Xavier, we should be prepared, in our own individual ways, to leave everything behind and become Missionaries of Christ. (Vivien Therese L. Bonzon | SFX SoCCom)
