REMASE holds series of workshop for newsletter staff
DAVAO CITY—The St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao has organized a series of workshops to equip their young writers.
After completing the line-up of editors and writers for the Editorial Board of Tinig REMASE, the official publication of the seminary, they already established their partnership with Davao Catholic Herald in training them.
Through a two-part workshop, the seminarians learned about the basics in news writing, feature writing, opinion writing, layout and circulation.
Aside from lectures, the seminarians also had a hands-on experience in journalistic works like writing the title and lead paragraph of a story, among others.
Sem. Benson Rance, the editor-in-chief of Tinig REMASE said they are hoping to form young seminarian-writers’ awareness on the importance of print media in the Church’s work of evangelization.
The seminar-workshop was held last November 20 and 27 at the Audio Visual Room of St. Francis Regional Major Seminary in Catalunan Grande, Davao City.
