DPWH DCDEO holds relief ops for quake victims
MAKILALA, NORTH COTABATO—In their desire to help the victims of the recent earthquakes in Mindanao, the employees of DPWH Davao City District Engineering Office have conducted a relief operation here, November 7.Dubbed as Oplan Tabang para sa Nalinugan, the relief operation was spearheaded by the DPWH DCDEO Employees’ Union and supported by the OIC District Engineer Richard A. Ragasa.
The disaster preparedness team also served as manpower during the distribution of grocery items, tent and other goods to the delight of the survivors.
The DPWH DCDEO employees and job order personnel have witnessed the plight of the survivors and how they have to endure the pain of losing their homes.
“Luoy kaayo,” said one of the employees who joined in the distribution describing the condition of the people in the area.
They have secured first a clearance from Brgy. Saging in Makilala where the relief operation was made.
Houses were decimated and reduced to rubbles, with residents forced to stay outside their homes in tents while some went to evacuation centers and rely on donations for survival.
Engr. Ragasa said that he is humbled by what they have seen and he is glad that they have successfully staged the said relief operations.
