Davao Church welcomes BEC Assembly delegates

The Archdiocese of Davao welcomes the delegates of the 4th BEC National Assembly here in Davao.

Through the opening Mass on November 11, delegates from different dioceses in the Philippines will converge at the San Pedro Cathedral to start the four-day assembly.

Close to 700 delegates are expected to participate including priests, religious and lay leaders of their respective dioceses.

The delegates will be welcomed with a dinner and program at the Grand Men Seng Hotel after the Mass.

There will be talks and inputs from 25 speakers who will share their experiences and expertise in the BEC during the sessions to be held at the Apo View Hotel.

One of the highlights of the talks will be the sharing about the 50 years of BEC in the Diocese of Tagum, wherein they will look back at how the BECs in Mindanao started and how they grew to what it is today.

Other dioceses will also be sharing their faith experiences in their BECs both in rural and urban settings.

The participants will get a taste of the life of the BECs in Mindanao through their exposure in the different Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) in the Archdiocese of Davao and neighboring dioceses.

Each day’s session will have a Holy Mass to mark the end of the day.

This year, the 4th BEC National Assembly will be reflecting on the theme: Discerning the Challenges of the BEC Journey in the Light of the New Evangelization.

The first BEC National Assembly was held in Manila in 2015.
