The pearl Rosary in my wallet

pearl rosaryAs October is dubbed as the month of the Holy Rosary, I am reminded of an item that I have wanted to have but can’t find in any religious items store—a rosary made of real pearls.

It took me several googling and checking websites until I realized that I can get one it I make it myself.

I have spent weekends finding materials until I was able to start beading my very own pearl rosary.

It is made of 10 pieces of freshwater pearls, a material which for me is not too pricey and a wooden cross which I found from the textile section.

After making it, I have posted it online and friends are asking if I can make them one but since work and school get in the way, I failed to make one.

The said rosary has been with me in my wallet which I can conveniently get if ever I forget to bring the one with the five decades.

Of all materials one can think of, I was asked why pearls? I said that my mother liked pearls but since it’s too pricey, she can only afford to buy the synthetic one. I can’t remember if freshwater pearls are available that time but I’m sure that real pearls are expensive.

It is also a way of remembering her since every time I recite the rosary using the little pearl beads, I do not only remember the Blessed Mother but also my late mother.
