Seminarians pay tribute to parents

The first year college seminarians of St. Francis Xavier College Seminary in Catalunan Grande, Davao City have honored their parents during the Parents’ Day celebration last September 8 and 22.

A Holy Mass was celebrated in the morning followed by a sharing among their parents about their role in the formation of their children in preparation for priesthood.

The seminarians together with their families and the formators gathered at noon for lunch while some seminarians performed some songs.

They also had their song and dance numbers, acting skills, among other after lunch to the delight of their parents and families present.

Their families also visited their dormitory and the different facilities to give them idea of how the seminarians train themselves spiritually and academically.

Fr. Orlando Angelia, rector of the seminary expressed his gratitude to the parents for their generosity in offering their children to serve God in preparation for priesthood.

The celebration pondered on the theme: “Ginikanan: Kabulig sa Kabataan sa Paglawig sa Kinabuhing Balaan.”
