Honoring the PME’s

The abbreviation PME is a word in the French language which stands for Pretres de Missions Etrangeres. In the English language it is translated as Priests of the Foreign Missions. It was founded in Montreal, Canada. They came to Davao region sometime in 1938. They evangelized the areas of Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur together with its contiguous city of Davao.

I was informed that this coming October 5 and 6, the PME’s will be honored here. I don’t have the complete information on the plan. All I heard is the Canadian ambassador will be coming and a special Mass will be part of the celebration.

We hope to hear more info from the Archdiocese and from the Davao Catholic Herald so we can participate. In the meantime we pray that the event will be inspiring and meaningful for us all.
