In the month of vocations this September, three new deacons will be added to the Archdiocese of Davao.

Sem. Ruperto Jamili, Jr., Sem. Michael Ondras, Jr., and Sem. Alfredo Bustamente, Jr. are all set to be ordained on September 2, at the San Pedro Cathedral at 5:30 PM.

The same Mass will be the launching of the Month of Vocations of the Archdiocese of Davao.

Prior to their ordination, the three underwent the Rite to Admission to Candidacy for Ordination last August 11, during the 6:00 PM Mass of Archbishop Romulo G. Valles.

During his homily, the archbishop said that he is happy to have another three candidates to the diaconate for the archdiocese, telling the crowd that they are just like the rest of them.

He added that the three are one with the people in their journey towards the kingdom of heaven.

“I hope that you can be witnesses that we all are going toward heaven,” the archbishop said.

He also said that if they are hesitant to witness then they cannot talk about heaven.

He encouraged the faithful to help them and pray for them that they will keep their faith and believe in the promise of God.

“You treasure your faith,” the archbishop ended.
