I am a hypocrite at times?

When I cannot fulfill my promise, I feel I am a hypocrite at certain times? Wrong. It is when I do the opposite of what I promised that I really appear a hypocrite.

There is a willful and deliberate kind of hypocrisy which is understood as pretense, deceit and bigotry. The number of hypocrites of this kind is not big.

The biggest number are those whose will-power is weak and are unable to resist the temptation. To this kind many of us belong. I am one of them. This is one reason we go to the sacrament of reconciliation or confession. We need the grace not only of repentance and forgiveness but also of resistance. May God have mercy on us.
