Onwards to 75th, Abp says
The Davao archbishop, as early as now, is looking forward for the big celebration of the 75th golden jubilee of Sta. Ana Shrine Parish in Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City.
“We are nearing the Diamond Jubilee. I would strongly suggest that the Shrine would start thinking of a big celebration five years from now,” Most Rev. Romulo Valles, D.D. said in his homily during the pontifical mass of the 70th fiesta celebration of Sta. Ana shrine parish.
Abp. Valles even extended his vision to the centenary of the shrine come 30 years.
“Thirty years from now, we will have the shrine’s centenary,” he said.
“Those who are aged 20 years old now are very privileged because they may witness that big celebration. Although we have not been in the beginning days, but we ate here in these days when we can sense the abiding presence of the Lord keeping us strong in our faith,” he added.
The archbishop also expressed his gratitude for the patron saint.
“Sta. Ana has been there all along and we are very happy as we take her as the inspiration of our faith,” he said.
“Therefore, in this 70th fiesta, I am looking forward to the 75th Diamond Jubilee and the centenary of this shrine. And we really look back with gratitude,” he added.
