St. John Baptiste Marie Vianney
Today, we celebrate St. John Baptiste Marie Vianney Sunday. He is known as the Curè De Ars, the patron of the clergy.
His zeal for the priesthood in the midst of academic difficulties, his love of hearing penitents even to the extent of missing meals and his devotion to the Eucharist are laudable and worthy of emulation both for priests and the faithful. He has given us an example of what it means to acknowledge the importance and make the most benefits of these sacraments.
We need to pray for our priests. Our prayers for them express our spiritual bonding as people of God. “The priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus. When you see a priest, think of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
