Why Pope not open to dialogue
For a couple of years now there has been one relentless criticism against Our Holy Father Pope Francis. This is his firm and silent refusal to dialogue. It has been coming from within our Church. These critics are several so called well-known and respected Catholic prelates and theologians (4 cardinals and 2 archbishops), historians and well-published scholars.
This may sound not only confusing but sadly unfortunate because we know and we believe Pope Francis is par excellence a man of dialogue.
The Pope has simple ideas based on experience on meaningful and effective dialogue. On many occasions and circumstances he would say, you don’t come to dialogue with closed minds. You have to listen; you have to be open; you have to be humble; you have to be respectful. No one has the monopoly of truths. You need to know people’s culture and ways of expression and relationships. To those who behave this way he does not say word. He prays for them.
We need to promote the culture of dialogue both within the Church and with those outside following the teaching and example of Pope Francis.
