“Awake my Heart to Faith”

MATI CITY – Following are the words to the song entitled “Awake my Heart to Faith” that topped the entries to the Vocation Song-writing Contest held at the St.Therese Gym of the Clergy House Compoind, Madang, Mati City, during the Vocation Culmination Activity last October 30, 2013.
The song was the entry from the Divine Mercy Shrine & Parish (DMSP); lyrics written by Richie Diane Godoy and music by Christian Louie Raga, both of the diocesan youth apostolate. It was judged to best represent the year”s theme: “Awakening Hearts to Faith.”

Verse 1 :I was once lost then you came, my troubled heart began to tame,You held my hand and gave me strength, to face my fears and all it went.
Verse 2: Sometimes I don’t know the answer to the questions I try to explain.
But I believe You have the reason; because of this I will hold on.

Chorus 1: Little did I know that I still have the chance to be with You.
Oh Lord, I’m blessed that I have You; Your love will push me through.

And even when I stumble down or my world will turn around,
The flood of tears is shutting down; everything I lost You help me found.
Awake my heart to faith.
My life was always a mess, You push me and you put me on a test.
You made me strong because of this; now I’m tougher than the rest.

BRIDGE: Faith will be my guide; in you Lord I will reside.
Your heart is my heart, and our love will not depart.

Chorus 2: Little did I know that I still have the chance to be with You.
Oh Lord, I’m blessed that I have You; Your love will push me through.
And even when I stumble down or my world will turn around,
The flood of tears is shutting down; everything I lost You helped me found.
Awake my heart to faith, You wake my heart to faith.
