The mystery of God’s call: Fr. Diaz’s ordination

Last May 18, Saturday, the sky was gloomy but the hearts of the parishioners of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Calinan were warm for another noble man from their parish was ordained on that day.

Rev. Fr. Glenn Bibero Diaz, Mill Hill Missionary, hails from Brgy. Wangan, Calinan District.

Fr. Diaz is the eldest of a family of four. He was introduced to the love of the Lord by his loving parents Mr. Alejandro Dixa and Mrs. Purita Cabug-os Diaz. Their family belongs to GKK Sr. San Jose Suwariba, Wangan, Calinan.

He grew up with a heart close to the public service since he served as a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman of the said barangay, and a Barangay Kagawad later on.

He was also an educator at Holy Cross College of Calinan. He was also a member of the parish youth apostolate core group.

“Maybe some of you could still not believe that I am already ordained as a priest. Who would have thought? Before, some have said I am too naughty to become a priest,” Fr. Diaz said in his thanksgiving message. “I received lots of negative reactions since before now. But with this, I can attest that the call of God is totally mysterious.”

In his message, Fr. Diaz reiterated how he discerned in following the call of God to please Him.

“It is true that there are so many hurdles to take following the call of the Lord. Among this is discerning if this is really the will of the Lord upon me and not my own. But despite all the challenges I have faced, the Lord has been constant in calling me from the start of my journey in the seminary until now. He never failed to carry me through the various people who have been an instrument to follow His call,” he said.

He finished his Philosophy Degree at the University of San Agustin in Iloilo and his Theology at Nyana Deepa Vidyapeeth Pune, India.

He served at Sarawak, Malaysia for his mission exposure.

It was not too long ago when he was ordained as a deacon at the Mill Hill House in Pune, India on November 16, 2018.

He served at San Juan Nepomuceno Parish in Anini-y Antique for his diaconate ministry.

Come August 2019, he will begin his assignment for his mission in Battambang, Cambodia.
