How to beat the summer heat
Summer is not yet over and the harsh weather condition proves that. Along with the rise in temperature, is the rise of electricity bills due to the increased use of appliances to beat the summer heat.
The Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) once again lined up some tips on how to beat the heat without breaking the budget.
- Dress for the weather. Wear light and cool clothes during a hot weather.
- Turn on a fan. Air moving on your skin makes you feel cooler. But don’t leave the fan running all day—only keep it on when you’re sitting in front of it.
- Take periodic cold showers or cold baths to cool your body temperature.
- Drink cold liquids.
- If it’s really hot, go to a mall and avail of their air-conditioning.
“If we are serious about bringing down our energy bill, we must start with high energy-consuming appliances such as the air-conditioning. When you follow these tips, you can use a lot less of air-conditioning without sacrificing comfort,” DLPC stated on its report.
