Evangelization 2033 stepped-up

For the first time in the history of Evangelization 2033 – Davao, efforts have been intensified in conducting catholic school of formation on discipleship and evangelization for lay evangelizers as it opens simultaneously yet another school in three different dioceses of Tagum, Digos and Davao. The 22-day on-going formation was most welcomed by the following parishes:
Diocese of Digos – in San Isidro Labrador Parish, Digos.
Archdiocese of Davao – in St. John the Baptist Parish, Lasang and in Diocese of Tagum – in Sacred Heart of Jesus Quasi – Parish, Apokon.

Rev. Msgr. Ulysses Perandos, parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus welcomes the participants by illuminating the verse “Go therefore, and make disciples to all nations, baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20). By this mandate, all catholic must be aware that the church exists for this reason – to evangelize. It is in fact, the Church’s deepest identity, her proper vocation (Evangelii Nuntiandi #14). And “No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty to proclaim” (Redemptoris Missio#3).

Yet, the allurements offered by the world, advancement in technology, its convenience, etc. is so intense that participating in Church’s activities, attending the Mass, formations and catechesis seem to be lame, boring and not appealing to many of our parishioners especially to the youths. Thus, Evangelization 2033 is one with the Church in its call for new evangelization. Its goal is to exhaust all kinds of efforts using new methods, applying new media, new vitality and other modern means yet delivering the same message and goal to bring Christ out and re-introducing Him to all people. Most Rev. Guillermo Afable (EV2033 – Mindanao Director) assures the formation team “Maranatha, Amen” as it embarks on the mission.
