GSL leadership seminar and workshop held
The St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Maa held a 3-day seminar-workshop for all GSL (GKK Servant Leaders) on January 25-27. The 43 chapels of the parish were well represented by their respective GSLs.
Day 1 of the sem-workshop began with a Holy Mass presided by the parish priest, Msgr. Paul Cuison. Then followed by the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament of which the GKK leaders had a twenty minute silence and reflection. During his talk, Msgr. Cuison gave emphasis on Conversion of which he said that the conversion of St. Paul happened quickly for it was an overnight conversion. Msgr. Cuison quickly added that the conversion of every GKK servant is continuous for it is a lifetime process. He was thankful though for the GSLs who heeded the call to attend the leadership sem-workshop.
Day 2 was a rainy day yet the GSLs came to listen to the Talk of Bro. Henry Evangelista in the morning and Fr. Henry Campeon in the afternoon. The Talk of Bro. Henry Evangelista was about the Creation of God found in the Book of Genesis. The Talk centered most on humility, love and the Bible. The speaker said that as servant leaders, they should serve with a heart full of love; they should serve with humility and become the light and salt of the community and in the parish.
The topic of Fr. Henry Campeon centered on the nature of GKK especially the functions and roles of the GSL. Fr. Henry reminded the three missions of the GSLs: Kingly which is to serve or service; Priestly which is to worship or worshipping community; and Prophetic which is to bring and spread the Good News. The following are the roles and functions of GSLs:
PANGULO SA KATILINGBAN (PSK) – to encourage the members to participate; presides meetings; networking
PANGULO SA LITURHIYA (PSL) – Worship Ministry; Prepares Kasaulugan sa Pulong (KSP) – its liturgy, the songs, assign lectors and servers; leads the spiritual activities like fiesta novena and bible sharing
PANGULO SA PAGTUDLO (PSP) – Formation Ministry; Should be on track of Catholic faith; its credo
PANGULO SA ALAGAD (PSA) – Service Ministry; Heads of socio-economic program of the Church
PANGULO SA KRISTOHANONG BANAY (PSKB) – Promotes Pro-life orientation such as natural family planning, recruits live in couples to receive Sacrament of Marriage
PANGULO SA BATAN-ON (PSB) – Organizes the youth in the GKK; works closely with Family Life Apostolate
Day 3 was the sending forth day. The GKK servant leaders of the 43 chapels attended the 9:00 A.M. mass for their sending forth. Each ministry has its color and its own shirts. There were designated pews for the GSLs. Msgr. Paul Cuison officiated the Holy Mass and the sending forth ceremony. (Pamela Millabe | SFAP SocCom)
