3 Bachelor Express bus suspended

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Davao Region issued suspension for 30 days to the other PUB involved in a vehicular accident which killed 7 people and injured 30 others on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 along Km. 92, Brgy. Magsaysay, Nabunturan, Compostella Valley.

The LTFRB suspends the operation of the Bachelor Express Inc. with case no. 2016-01170 with three authorized units effective 30 days.

LTFRB OIC Regional Director Atty. Cattleya Acaylar signed the said suspension order on February 6, 2019 after identifying that the bus involved in the incident committed breach of franchise conditions and out-of-line operations.

As stated on the order, based on the preliminary investigation conducted by the Board, the authorized route of the Bachelor Express bus involved in the said incident, with MV File Number 1301-1042995 and Chassis No. LA6A1LALHB402831, is Davao City–Maragusan via Camanlangan only but it operated beyond its authority.

The three PUB units to be suspended are MV File No. 1301-1042995 with Chassis No. LA6A1LAL6HB402831, MV File No. 1301-1042991 with Chassis No. LA6A1LAL6HB402848, and MV File No. 1301-1042993 with Chassis No. LA6A1LAL2HB402846.

The operator of the units is also directed to surrender the For Hire plates of all the PUBs subjected to the Legal Action. (Julianne A. Suarez)
