A Call to Holiness: ACUP National Conference
The Association of Catholic Universities of the Philippines (ACUP) gathered last January 17-19 in the University of Immaculate Conception, Bajada Campus, Davao City to hold the 2019 National Conference with the theme “The Catholic Universities’ Response to Gaudete Et Exsultate: A Mission Towards Evangelization”.
The three day Conference was held to deepen the participant’s understanding of the diversity of forms that holiness takes and to inspire them to reflect and actively respond to the universal call to holiness. It was also an opportunity of sharing ideas and learning from the different speakers coming from the Catholic universities all over the Nation.
The Conference’ discussion was about Research Studies on Gaudete Et Exsultate; The Response of Catholic Universities to the Call to Holiness: The Mission of Education, Mission of Evangelization, The Youth’s Response to the Call to Holiness, Inspiring the youth to the Call to Holiness Searching Meaning and Purpose to Effect Transformation, Making a Difference Through Dynamic Collaboration and Committed Partnership, His Holiness Pope Francis’ Message on the Call to Holiness.
“From our young and beautiful hearts we can do great things yet at times there are fears which hinder us to be the best we can,” said Ms. Mary Francis Laquinon, Manager of Continuing Education Institute during the conference discussion. The conference was a great opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the Lord. And this serves as a reminder that despite our differences and whatever status we have in the society we should always respond to the universal call to holiness. (Alodia Luy | HCDC Intern)
