City Council endorses opening of schools
The City Council approved a resolution endorsing the opening of 31 schools for 2019 for the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in the city.
Committee Chairman on Education Councilor Pilar Braga endorsed a letter from the Department of Education Davao City Division Superintendent Maria Ines Asuncion to open up the said schools.
“I am happy to announce that as good vibes for the new year we have just approved the opening of 31 public elementary and high schools,” Braga told Times.
“These schools are especially in the far-flung areas of Davao City where our disadvantaged students are; we want education to be accessible and affordable to our young people,” she added.
The list of schools include: GSIS Heights National High School, Dominga National High School, Patag National High School, Upian National High School, Betan National High School, Bayanihan Integrated School, New Valencia Integrated School, Datu Lompipi National High School, Magsaysay National High School, Pangyan National High School, Mapula National High School, Ula National High School, Carmen Integrated School, Bantol National High School, Taga-ibo National High School, Sumilop National High School, Matina Pangi National High School, Gilun Elementary School, Datu Duyan National High School, Matina Biao National High School, KTC Elementary School, Luyan Elementary School, Kabangbang Elementary School, Gumitan Integrated School, Malikongkong National High School, Balah Licosan National High School, Laho Integrated School, Lumiad National High School, Mabuhay National High School, Lumatag National High School, and Lacson Integrated School.
