Drink 8-10 glasses of clean water every day. Buko juice is water at its purest. Dehydration is a major cause of many ailments. Before taking anything in the morning, like coffee, take 3 glasses of water in an interval of about 30 seconds. Among its many functions, water is needed to flush out uric acid and excess salt. One hour after each meal, take one glass of water and two glasses one hour before each meal. For better absorption, place a pinch of rock salt on every glass. Aerate chlorinated water for at least 12 hours. Avoid taking plain water during and immediately after meals as this will dilute the gastric acid in the stomach which is needed for digestion. It is better to take one to two tea-cups of homemade tea made from leaves of guayabano, lemon grass, pandan, or ginger. The latter contains digestive enzymes. For merienda it is better to take fresh fruits.

Minimize intake of foods loaded with chemicals: broiler chicken, pork, beef, canned goods, processed and highly processed foods, quick cooking foods such as noodles, and “junk” foods. . “There is growing evidence that chemicals and toxins ingested by or injected into mass-produced livestock and poultry are finding their way to the dinner table, and are disturbingly playing a bigger role in the increased incidence of aggressive diseases in human.”(Science/Health section, Philippine Daily Inquirer, July 25, 2009).
