IIREF holds Family Day

The Ignatian Institute of Religious Education Foundation Incorporated held its Family Day for the second semester of the Academic Year on December 15, 2018 at the Ateneo De Davao University Jacinto Campus. It began with a Holy Mass officiated by Bishop Emeritus, Fernando Capalla, DD together with Fr. Nestor Dalumpines, DCD, IIREF Executive Director and Fr. William Malley, SJ, Founder of IIREF.

During the homily, the presider reminded the assembly to hear the voice of God in silence amidst the loud noise around us and see the presence of God where salvation comes from. He also added that we may be doing a lot of charitable works to the least of our brothers but may fail to see the face of God. Lastly he pointed out the importance of the foundation in forming theologians as they go forth for the mission of bringing Christic peace to the people not only in Davao Region but also in the peripheries.

After the mass, the staff, faculty, alumni, students and friends of Fr. Malley, S.J. gathered for a souvenir picture that would always remind the people with the IIREF’s founder and his family. Then all proceeded to the Finster Hall for the program where Fr. Malley’s 30th book was also launched. The active participation of the attendees in games, singing and dancing made the gathering very festive.

The occasion concluded with a fellowship lunch and the giving of token of appreciation to the IIREF Faculty and Staff. (Flor Deloria | HFP SoCCom)
