HTC Holds Two Alay Buhay

The Holy Trinity Community (HTC), a covenanted community held two outreach activities simultaneously in the parishes of San Miguel Marahan and at St. Mary’s Parish in Cabantian last December 9, 2018.The outreach, which has been called Alay Buhay since 2012 (after Typhoon Pablo) is an activity of the Social Action Ministry (a sub-Ministry under the Compassion Ministry) of the Holy Trinity Community (HTC), which identifies itself to be a community of disciples on mission that is Christ-centered, Catholic, charismatic, family-oriented and church builder. Alay Buhay is done twice a year during the Easter and Christmas seasons.

The outreach in Marahan Parish (Parish Priest Fr. Gerry Charcos, MJ), which is now on its third year, was conducted by the South District of HTC. The activity started with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Fr. Efren Reyes MJ, followed by simultaneous holding of medical mission, livelihood program training, youth jamming and fellowship and gift-giving of pre-loved clothes, toys and brand-new slippers. Around a hundred parishioners both young and old benefited from free consultations and medicines, while 25 members of PSAM (Parish Social Acton Ministry) received training on mushroom growing given by DTI (Dept. of Trade and Industry).

The Alay Buhay in St. Mary’s Parish (Parish Priest Fr. Diony Tabiliran) was spearheaded by the HTC North District. Their activities included mini talk on Youth Culture, games and giving of 72 food packs and ukay-ukay for the family of the scholars.

Alay Buhay is a venue to train young adult members the importance of giving and sharing their knowledge with their fellow youth. At the same time it is an opportunity for HTC members to share the blessings they have received from God. ‘And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that you will abound in every good work.’ 2 Cor 9:8 (Manilee Araune)
