Financial aid increase for Phil Eagle Foundation pushed
The City Council passed on third reading an ordinance moving to increase the financial aid for the conservation efforts of the Philippine Eagle Conservation Program Foundation Inc., (PECPFI).
The ordinance was under the Committee on Finance, Ways and Means, and Appropriations of Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang and Committee on Rules, Privileges, Laws, and Ordinances of Councilor Melchor Quitain.
The ordinance amends the then P1 Million aid to the said foundation to P1.5 Million.
Based from the letter of Dennis J. I. Salvador, Executive Director of PECPFI sent to the Sangguniang Panglungsod, the increase was relative to the assistance given by the City per Annual Budget, Calendar Year 2018.
In the joint committee report, City Budget Officer Ermelinda Gallego issued a certification that there is an appropriation under CY 2018 Annual Budget intended for Financial Assistance to to the PECPFI.
Dayanghirang expressed that the amendments will be passed in the Council in support to the conservation efforts of the said Foundation.
The PECPFI expressed that it already received the P1 Million aid for CY 2017 and it is waiting to receive the P 1.5 Million for CY 2018. (Julianne A. Suarez)
