Gallery of Saints: Images of saints shown during Davao exhibit
DAVAO CITY — Who is the saint who intercedes for your prayers?
After the success of the two Marian exhibits, the gallery of saints is ongoing at Abreeza Mall.
From the bronze statue of Pope John Paul II to Mama Mary, the faithful can get to see the images of the saints on display.
The event is organized by the Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communications and this will be a tradition that will be celebrated every year.
Different communities and parishes participate in this exhibit with their patron saint’s image loaned for display during the said event.
Communities have also participated in the praying of the Holy Rosary and the chaplet of the Divine Mercy.
To have an idea about the life of the saints, movies about the saints are also shown during the duration of the exhibit.
Priests also deliver their inputs on the sub-themes, namely: Two subtle enemies of holiness; To be holy means to be happy; Perseverance, Joy and Boldness as signs of holiness; The great criterion to holiness; The call to holiness, a call for everyone; Holiness through prayer and community; Combat and vigilance, constant struggle for holiness; Discernment, necessary towards holiness today.
Aside from the display of the images of the saints, there is also a divine cosplay wherein the participants depict the look of the saints.
A Holy Mass every 12:00 noon is also celebrated and participated in by the devotees and the general public.
The exhibit runs from October 20-30. A march of saints from Abreeza going to San Pedro Cathedral and a Holy Mass will cap the entire exhibit. (Photos by Karl Ingan-eng)
