Daughters of Mary Immaculate hold regional assembly

DMII Daughters of Mary Immaculate International regional assembly 2018More than 700 ladies came to participate in the 12th Regional Assembly of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate International on October the 13th. The event was held at SMX Lanang in Davao City. The participants were coming from the Dioceses of Mati, Tagum, Davao, Digos and Marbel.

The Diocese of Digos came to participate with members coming from Sto. Rosario Parish in Malita, St. Michael Parish in Padada, San Isidro Labrador Parish in Digos City, Mary Mediatrix Parish in Digos City and Immaculate Conception Parish in Bansalan. Miss Gene Layog, the Regent of the Diocese of Digos DMII said that these by far, are the only parishes organized for the DMII – Daughters of Mary Immaculate International. They are still working on recruiting more ladies to join them in their mission.

Their mission, five of them includes: Pro Life – the preservation and protection of life from womb to womb including environmental concerns; Morality in Media – Promoting media as an effective and wholesome instrument of communication for all kinds of information, ideas, directives, and avenues for developing and nurturing moral values; Upliftment of Women Workers – addressing current issues and concerns such as poverty, violence against women, subordination and discrimination in the workplace, trafficking of women and plight of overseas women workers; Welfare of Prisoners’ Families and their victims – serving the needs, both material and spiritual, of prisoner’s families and their victims; and Youth Welfare/Squirettes of Mary Immaculate (SMI) is the youth arm of (DMMI) which has for its main purpose and goal, the development of leadership abilities and talents of each members with the Blessed Mother Mary as their model and guide.

The guest speaker, Mrs. Rosalinda Pimentel from Manila delivered her message centered on the theme: The bearer of God’s Light and Love through Mama Mary in the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons. (Blaze Q. Cantaros | Sugid SoCCom)
