Diocese of Digos holds annual retreat
The Diocese of Digos held its annual retreat for the priests on July 23–27, 2018.
About 30 priests came to Charles Borromeo Retreat House in Matina, Davao City to submit themselves once again to the Divine Providence. The first 2 ½ days was spent along with the laity and religious groups at the Ateneo de Davao University for the Mercy and Mary Retreat singlehandedly given by Rev. Fr. Michael Gaitley MIC who came all the way from the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, USA.
When the “Mercy” retreat was concluded with a mass in the morning of July 25th, the priests then proceeded to the venue of their own retreat at CB Retreat House in Davao city not far from Ateneo where the “Mercy” retreat was held.
The Theme of the said retreat is “Called By Name: The Changing Identity of the Priesthood”. This is facilitated by a team called Bukal ng Tipan which is a covenant community whose main ministry is to provide spirit-filled retreat and recollections through a God-encounter activity designed for the religious congregations & organizations of the sisters & nuns, brothers, priests and also the laymen.
