Gifts of the Holy Spirit received

On the feast of Pentecost, we commemorate the birth of the Church. When our Lord sent and gave the Holy Spirit to His disciples, they had two important experiences: first, a much deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus and second, a greater sense of unity with the community of believers. In baptism all of us received the gifts of the Holy Spirit making us children of God our Father. In confirmation, we received the gifts of the Holy Spirit to make us active members of our Christian community.

The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (MIC) joyfully celebrates the feast of Pentecost to commemorate the special day when the MIC Mother Foundress professed her religious vow in 1905, at which she took the religious name of Mother Mary of the Holy Spirit.

During the anticipated Eucharistic Celebration as presided by Fr. Albert Cepe, CssR, Local Superior of the Redemptorist Fathers last Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the MIC Retreat house in Davao City; it was also a special day of joy and thanksgiving for the MIC as fourteen (14) members of the Associate of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (AsMIC) of Davao Cluster renewed their commitment to the Lord and three (3) new members were accepted to the AsMIC. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit they received be a reminder of their commitment to the call of service to God.

Sr. Justina Villagracia, MIC exended in grateful hearts to the redemptorist father who presided the mass, friends, benefactors and families of the AsMIC for the love and support given to the MIC community and to the MIC sisters and formandees for the preparation of the solemn celebration. (Hermie Mapute, AsMIC Secretary)
