GKK Saint Teresa of Calcutta, Santiago Villas

The God Almighty has truly enlightened and inspired us when this birth of GKK St. Teresa de Calcutta was born. Mother Teresa, known in the Catholic church as St. Teresa of Calcutta, was an Albanian Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. In the light of God, it was an opportune time for the people of Catalunan Grande to have witnessed the presence of Mother Teresa on the year 1996. With pride and honor, this remembrance is kept in the heart of the Catholic people for the first time in the record, the first woman saint who visited Catalunan Grande, Davao City Philippines. “Spread love everywhere you go, let no one ever come to you without leaving happier,” saint Teresa said.

Finally, the residents of Santiago Villas, Catalunan Grande uphold the promised, turned to a collective force and committed to service and develop the essence of the spirit of humanity and love in serving this “GKK” or Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Kkatilingban and with mother or St. Teresa our Patron saint. Fortunately, with our faith and enduring love, the PSK of the GKK St. Teresa committed to a series of several parish trainings and seminars. Inflamed hearts by these trainers and coordinators, we passed the requisites and policies priority to put up our very own chapel. Innate and unconquered soul for the love to serve the humanity and God, it was Ms. Rutchel Lignes who became our PSK president, her strong manifestations and inspiration among us residents and Roman Catholic members in the Santiago Villas, Catalunan Grande.

Equipped with the trainings and seminars, the united and inspired group known already as GKK St. Teresa de Calcutta continue to march in development more spiritually inside the Santiago Villas. The members are indeed happy and looking forward for more spiritual activities and development. In connection, the united group commended to the election of the following GSL Officers:

With common objectives among all of us united people in our sanctuary Santiago Villas, we have shared our very best to become an individual, with supportive and active followers and leaders in our spiritual and development events. We promoted different prayers and devotions, and a lot more. We really find these things enriching and enhancing our faith to the Father almighty. Among other practices are devotions of the saints and one is the divine mercy which is fervently and wholly attended by the local residents.

Our consciousness to prosper in unity and love spread in our place, our GSK officers enabled to initiate a Christmas party inside the Villas. With enjoined hearts and vigor, the local members and children celebrated the spirit of Christmas with the shared knowledge of strengthening the camaraderie or fellowship. Such initiative inspires greater among us people who have been thirsty of Godly innovations and teaching. It was successful.

Local meetings and prayer celebrations were made on the following months from November 18, 2017 to March. Songs and praises practice were made at our “Home sweet Home” club house. And just recently on the third and fourth week of March we were able to manifest our love to Jesus Christ, as part to the practices of the Lenten season, the GKK St. Teresa de Calcutta paraded 14 seasons of the cross, twice. It was highly congested with the support and love of our local residents.

In recognition of our chapel and created GSL circle, we celebrated our first Mass on April 7, 2018, Saturday at Santiago Villas basketball court. Ready to receive the spiritual blessing and all the blessings from our savior, Rev. Fr. Joel C. Caasi is the celebrant of the mass. With our unbeatable will to serve the people, the GKK St. Teresa de Calcutta pray that this First mass will become a landmark of modesty and unity among us residents.

Seeing through the active and commendable support and majority presence of the local residents in our place, we all hope that we will be able to fulfill to continue our mission in line with the service to our GKK St. Teresa de Calcutta. The full force of the GSL set of officers has made a strong conveyance to our locals. They, as role players are the best source of inspiring stories which people recognized their individual role that in a true love and service, there is modesty and unity. Thanks God.
