56th Commencement Exercises of XACOSE

Excerpt from Archbishop Romulo G. Valles’ homily during the 56th Commencement Exercises of St. Francis Xavier College Seminary last March 15, 2018 at REMASE Gym.

“This success, this victory, this joy is best expressed not by our own hello and congratulations, it will come always. But, we say thanks by celebrating the Eucharist… always we come to the Eucharist.”

“What has happened in the past few years in the seminary is always the work of the Lord. Always. And many times the style of the Lord, ang kabubut-on sa Diyos alang kaninyo will be difficult to get, di ma gets but always masaligon kita nga kining tanan buhat sa Diyos. And that buhat sa Diyos, siya ang principal formator sa seminary is also given sharing to many of us.”

“Those parents who are here, your parents, brothers and sisters, GKKs, Church organizations, ang mga madre na inyong kaila and the seminary formators. All of them murag nakasinati sa glow as it were of God’s ever abiding presence and desire to give Priests to the Church. Naningkamut pag-ampo kaninyo because in the end this is the action of God showing His love for you and for the Church. Busa kining Santos nga Misa karon, mao ang atong pasalamat ug pagdayeg sa Diyos tungod kay kining kasinatian nato karong hapona lagi mao ang as the psalm would go ‘Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.’”

“Parents please realize na kabahin kamo niining kalipay na atong gisaulog karon, kabahin kamo sa kadaugan ug kalampusan. In a sense, you have cooperated sa Diyos, mitabang kamo, kauban kamo sa Diyos sa pag-umol niining atong 39 young men na mutapos karong hapona sa ilang college formation.”

“The most and sure single thing that He will affirm you and move you as long as you are open, the source of encouragement would be the Lord Himself. And I would add, the Lord plus our Blessed Mother, both of them will sustain us in the journey of discipleship and in the journey towards evangelization.”
