TESDA skills-based training graduates dream of a better life
DAVAO CITY—New skills, new work opportunities.
This is what happened to the graduates of the technology-based skills training program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in partnership with the Archdiocesan Social Action Center of Davao (ASAC).
During the graduation ceremony held February 11 at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Sasa, 19 trainees have finished the Shield Metal Arc Welding NC I while 25 trainees finished Refrigeration and Air condition Servicing NC II.
The graduation ceremony was graced with the presence of TESDA’s RTC-KPVTC Davao Center Administrator Egmedio O. Valdez, Jr. and his team together with ASAC Davao’s Director Fr. Leonardo Dublan, Jr. who also officiated the Holy Mass prior to the ceremony.
Fr. Dublan said that the graduates should treat their new skills in earning a living and living a life that serves God and the people.
The St. Joseph the Worker Parish, whose patron saint is a carpenter, and patron saint of workers has initiated a training program for parishioners and put up a training center at the back of the parish church during the term of Fr. Victor Isidoro Gilay years ago.
the training was expanded to others from different parishes and was done every Sunday to give those who have full-time jobs the opportunity to learn skills that they can acquire through TESDA and hopefully, get in-demand jobs both in the country and abroad.
The participants are thankful for their opportunity to be trained under TESDA. TESDA on the other hand encouraged them to level up their skills by joining more trainings handled by their office.
