Bible Month

The Bible: Foundation of Righteous Leadership and Living (Mk. 10:42-44/Prov. 29:2)

How many of us open our cellular phones every morning to check our mail box than read God’s message in the Bible? How many of us spend more time on Facebook and YouTube to connect with others than communicate with God by reflecting His Word in the Scriptures?

January is Bible month. Today, the celebration of the Bible Week starts and will culminate on the 28th of January, Bible Sunday. If you do not have a Bible, buy one. It is very affordable. If you already have one, read it daily. If you have used it daily, join Bible group studies or the Bible apostolate in your Parish to deepen your encounter with the Word of God. Jesus said that man lives not on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

May we take effort in getting involved in our GKKs and Parish for the many activities to enhance our love of the Bible. “Ignorance of the Bible is ignorance of Christ.” May we more and more read, study, pray and live the word of God.
