Social Action’s programs are 2018 ready!
Something to remember and to look forward to…
The Archdiocesan Social Action Center highlighted different existing social action programs that will be empowered in the year 2018 and the years to come during the celebration of its 50th anniversary at Regional Major Seminary Gym, Catalunan Grande, Davao City last month.
ASAC Staff Coordinator Sr. Marisa Arado said that one of their programs is Alay Kapwa, in which other institutions will be involved for the Catholic schools. She also added that there will be trainings, “pakusgan pud nato ang skills training in partnership with the archdiocese and TESDA.”
She also said that the Parish Disaster Action Response Team (PDART) will be strengthened and integrated in every Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) to increase the functionality of the BEC Emergency Response Team.
The last program she mentioned was the Sagop Kinabuhi Program 2 (SKP2), a program that helps the drug surrenderees who are now called Voluntary Submission for Reformation Persons (VSRPS).
Response to Duyog Marawi
The sub-region of Davao, Digos, Tagum, Mati (DADITAMA) team also organized this program wherein they adopted two barangays in the Municipality of Balindog.
“Last November, naghatag ug food packs ang Diocese of Digos. Atong December naghatag ang Diocese of Tagum,”Arado said.
Schedules for the dioceses of Davao and Mati will be this month and on February respectively.

The Archdiocesan Social Action Center is the pastoral agency of the Archdiocese of Davao that helps the church community in various aspects such as disaster trainings, psychological problems, blood donations, natural and man-made calamities preparations, dental and medical missions, livelihood programs and skill-based trainings among others.
