I am God’s servant
It challenges me to train a non-Catholic student into writing for a Catholic newspaper. I don’t want to enumerate my reasons. Instead, let us be inspired with this story of Pat, our outgoing Mass Comm intern.* * * * * *
I am one of the Mass Communication interns at Davao Catholic Herald (DCH) and I am blessed to be a part of their purpose and mission even for a short while. I had been enjoying my days in DCH though every day is a rough, tough and busy day because most days we are out of the office to cover fora, fiestas and other religious activities. However, I always thank God for the opportunity to be also a channel of blessing by sharing God’s word to the community and the world.
I am a part of the music team in our church and a worship leader, as well. So, I use my talents to glorify God and this is my concrete service for Him. I am also a missionary because our church is a mission church. Twice a year, we go to the mountains, specifically in Arakan Valley, North Cotabato. We visit and share God’s word to the Tinananon tribe and for that purpose they too shall spread God’s Word to the Muslim tribes like the Pulangyon and Kulamanon.I learned to surrender my whole life to God since I was 16 years old. I surrendered every part of me, even my dreams and laid it all to God. Knowing that all my dreams and goals in life should be in line with God’s will. As it says in Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
Now, I am a graduating student and I am looking forward to have a good paid job. But I will just leave everything to the Father above because I know He will sustain all my needs. I will still continue glorifying God in my workplace and share His word to anyone whom I would encounter. (Patricia Dave Teoxon | HCDC Intern)
