Shake Out!

With the occurrence of a large magnitude earthquake along Davao Oriental, it is now incumbent upon the different stakeholders in the City to devise plans in order that the hazards brought about by this Earthquake and possible Tsunami will be addressed in order to save lives and reduce, if not eliminate, suffering and ultimately to avoid the occurrence of societal disorder.

It is in this aspect that the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DCDRRMC) has initiated the conduct of a City Wide Full Scale Earthquake and Tsunami Exercise dubbed as the “1st City Wide Shake Out Drill” to test the different mechanisms introduced by Republic Act 10121 through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Framework to have a “Safer, Adaptive and Disaster Resilient Davao City Communities Towards Sustainable Development”.
