Religious association in Mati holds facilitators’ training
CITY OF MATI — The Association of Religious in the Diocese of Mati (ARDM), in coordination with St. Nicolas de Tolentino Cathedral Parish, held a Facilitators’ Training at the St. Joseph Retreat House, Brgy. Dahican, Mati City last May 8-10, 2017. The training primarily aimed to assist the Campus Ministry in the parish in facilitating retreats and recollections to schools, Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) and different sectors in the City. The three-day training was facilitated by Sr. Florita Galido, MIC and Fr. Antonio O. Nombrefia, OSA and participated in by sixteen (16) parishioners from various GKKs, organizations and apostolates. In the activity, the participants were given a lecture on how to facilitate spiritual exercises such as retreats, recollections, team building activities, and GKK gatherings.
One of the participants, KPK president, Erlinda Mahumot, said that the training paved the way to work hand in hand with the religious in the mission of evangelization by way of giving recollections or retreats. “This is a great help for me to become fully committed and well-equipped as a resource speaker or recollection facilitator whenever I am needed in the GKK or in the parish,” she said.
Representing GKK SVF, Crossing Kapayas, Leonila Pajo, shared that she felt God’s hand guiding her all throughout the activity. “I saw the hand of God leading me in this training because thru this training I can be a better shepherd to the members of the GKK since I don’t know what to give them.” She added that “thru this training, I have many topics to give them in the future.”
The success of this event is given to those who offered prayers and to the sponsors with generous hearts who chose not to have their names mentioned. The follow-up meeting and the second batch will be scheduled once the group finalizes the plan with the approval of the parish priest. (Fr. Antonio O. Nombrefia, OSA)
