40 IIREF theologians graduate from HCDC
One Doctor of Philosophy in Theology, twenty-nine Master of Arts in Theology and ten Adult Formation Program in Theology, went up the stage along with 1,378 graduates to receive their diplomas during the 48th Commencement Exercises of the Holy Cross of Davao College last April 8, 2017.Fely Mordeno, MAT, of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal was the lone graduate this year for the Doctor of Philosophy in Theology with her dissertation, “Inculturation: Bringing Christic Peace into the Matigsalug Ethnic Community to Promote Human Dignity.”
Mordeno was a product of John XXIII Catechetical Center (JCC) at the same school in 1980; and she graduated her Master of Arts in Theology in IIREF at the Ateneo de Davao University in 2001.
Twenty-nine graduated for the Master of Arts in Theology (MAT), namely: Rosario Allado, Kerry Jed Bernido, Shishir Bhandari, Aniceto Bitayo, Junreyglen Briones, Angelika Calano, Emerson Calumpang, Nathaniel Case, Patrick Jose Cavan, Noemi Grace Cosare, Francis Anthony Demol, Byron Descallar, Geraldine Genelsa, Emma Gok-Ong, Adrian Guergio, Vonzhemar Hijada, Cherish Jarilla, Sr. Emila Lagumbay, Leizl Lampitok, Alicia Majarocon, Josephine Marcos, Edwin Mayormita, Ian Glenn Ocmen, Amador Siapno, Juna Grace Torres, Jocelyn Turno, Giovanni Udtohan, Argie Ybañez, and Cecilia Zapanta.
Ten received certificates for Adult Formation Program in Theology, namely: Richard Ivan Alcomendras, Leilany Antia, Carolina Duco, Sr. Trinidad Luisen, Teresita Menil, Jack Montano, Michelle Salamanca, Christine Santiago, Ho Thi Truong, and Evangeline Uyan.
Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles, DD, officiated the wearing of doctoral and masteral caps and the giving of certificates to the theologian graduates, who encouraged all graduates during the Baccalaureate Mass to always bear the name, “I am Holy Cross” on the respective life endeavors in the future.
Rev. Msgr. Julius Rodulfa, President of Holy Cross of Davao College, in his message to the graduates, reechoed the prophetic mission of Holy Crossian, “ex fide ad veritatem” (from faith to truth). (Vonz Hijada | OLLP SoCCom)
