SFX Tibungco celebrates fiesta, thanks benefactors
St. Francis Xavier Parish of Tibungco celebrated its 51st fiesta last December 4, 2016 with the theme: “San Francisco Javier: Modelo sa Pulong ug Buhat Ngadto sa Kristohanong Katilingban.”
To say that this year’s Parochial Fiesta Celebration is simple as compared to last year is an understatement. The Novena Masses started last Nov. 24, 2016 with diocesan priests as the celebrators. Most of them had served the Parish as parish vicars and/or parish priests.
Pilgrimage Masses or “Misa Panawduaw” were also conducted in schools under the parish’ jurisdiction.
Procession in honor of the St. Francis Xavier, was attended by many on the dawn of December 3, 2016. The bad weather did not stop the parishioners especially the GKK Servant Leaders from cooperating in the “Pista ng Parokya” on December 4. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Msgr. Ed Rodriguez.
The celebration was capped with the “Clergy Night” featuring an invitational basketball game between the Davao Clergy and Brgy. Bunawan Council, followed by a dinner.
In behalf of the Parish Priest, Fr. Ben Capulong, hearfelt gratitude is given to all who have contributed to the success of this year’s celebration: Msgr. Ed Rodriguez, diocesan and religious priests, Davao Clergy Basketball Team, Barangay Tibungco Council/Barangay Tanods, Bunawan District Police, Davao City Task Force, sponsors and their families, and schools such as Sixto Babao, Mudiang, F. Bustamante Central, A. Pitchon, Sto. Nino, Buhisan and UM for receiving the St. Francis Xavier’s icon during the Pilgrimage Masses, DXGN Spirit FM, Singles for Christ, 90 GKKs under the St. Francis Xavier Parish, mass servers (KOA, LCM, gift bearers, Lay Eucharistic Ministers), Parish Pastoral Council, and all the parishioners of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
