Living Rosary

Dear KNOT,

When our village was still new, we used to serenade at dawn our neighbors and the newcomers as a form of welcome and in order to build camaraderie with them. Serenading was done during birthdays, too.

Then we seemed to forget this culture later, and began to loosen our strong bond as a community that was felt even in our GKK’s Kasaulogan sa Pulong.

Thus, we agreed on the need to rekindle our friendship in the neighborhood and to bring them to participate in our chapel activities.

In fact, for a start, someone suggested for a neighborhood rosary and Bible sharing activity as a way of reaching out to them, who would otherwise not go to the GKK chapel.

Then, someone from Agusan introduced the “Theotokos” Bible Rosary format. This includes bible sharing before closing the activity.

Another also suggested praying the chaplet of the Divine Mercy.

These were done separately at the beginning.

But today, we have incorporated all three in our Dawn Rosary: Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, Biblical Rosary, and Bible Sharing.

Since 1995, our small group has grown to more than 20 members, along with children in the neighboring sitio in Newtown, Bago Gallera.
