2 sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo celebrates their Final Vow
Davao, June 26, 2013 – The Sisters of St. Charles of Borromeo celebrated the final religious profession of Sr. Marichu M. Cultura of Javier, Leyte and Sr. Vergenia N. Mondano of Calape, Bohol at Mary Star of the Sea Chapel in Matina Aplaya, Davao City with the theme “That To The World We Servants Be”. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Most. Rev. Romulo G. Valles, Archbishop of Davao.
In an interview with Sr. Marichu, she said that her motivation is to serve the lord but she discovered, as time goes by, it’s not just about serving the lord that made her motivated but also the deepening of her relationship with God. She is inspired to serve the Lord even though He is invisible to her eye, but visible to her heart.
Before entering the religious life, she was a teacher for high school students. At times she also experienced a lot of difficulties because her family was against her decision of becoming a nun and she has to sacrifice her life. She never regrets her decision to enter the religious life and felt good knowing that this is really God’s call for her.
Upon the proclamation of their final vow, she said that the feeling was really unexplainable. It was a great happiness that she felt she was the most beautiful woman in the world knowing that she is now finally a nun.
