The Ignatian Hallmark of Excellence and Service
The Ateneo de Davao University – Junior High School (AdDU-JHS) is one of the schools run by the Society of Jesus. It takes pride in a comprehensive holistic formation that prepares students to become competent vis-à-vis the challenges of the real world. The mantra of the school, Fortes-in-Fide (strong in faith), aims to see its community to work hand in hand for the greater glory of God.
Participation of students, faculty and employees in various formation activities give the community insight on particular issues within and outside the campus. This unique thrust of education paves the way for the AdDU-JHS to maximize one’s potential and utilizing these to respond to the challenges of the time. Consequently, the AdDU-HS Community has been forming leaders and serving the community at Davao and beyond for the last sixty-eight years now.
This tradition of excellence and service began with St. Ignatius of Loyola and his companions. This tradition of excellence and service, which the AdDU-JHS continues to uphold, makes a person capable of practicing and perfecting skills he or she has acquired during his or her stay.
Moreover, the same tradition allows AdDU-JHS graduates to become good examples to others by being sensitive, seeing God in everything, working harmoniously with the community, all for the greater glory of God. (Jan Joseph Bustamante & Earl Ian S. Uy)
