Pro-lifers told: “Bring back true meaning of life”

DAVAO CITY—Pro-lifers from the different parishes of the Archdiocese of Davao were told to “bring back true meaning of life.”

In his homily during the culminating mass of Pro-life month, Saturday Feb. 27, Archbishop Romulo Valles urged members of the Family and Life Apostolate that by bringing back true meaning of life, one will live up to one’s baptism.

As an example, he said, “One cannot claim that he or she is pro-life if one throws garbage anywhere, but making the planet pro-life by avoiding throwing garbage anywhere.”

“To be a pro-life advocate is to defend the image and likeness of God, to protect our baptismal dignity,” the archbishop said, adding that protecting the children against pornography and drugs are also the means to become a pro-lifer.

The archbishop also said that to be pro-life does not mean going against contraceptives but added that the source of life is God and one comes closer to Him in the Eucharist.

Meanwhile, the culmination of the Pro-life Month in the Archdiocese of Davao was done through a caravan and participated by pro-life advocates coming from the different parishes in the archdiocese.

Fr. Orlando Angelia, director of FLA said they brought with them the icon of the Holy Family to remind them of the dignity of the family who also protects life.

FLA has been promoting the protection of life against contraception and contraceptive mentality through seminars in the parishes and other campaigns like the pro-life caravan that also announced the upcoming radio program over DXGN 89.9 SPIRIT FM, dubbed as Kristohanong Pamilya that will be heard every Sunday at 7:00-8:00pm.
