K of C Mindanao joins IEC procession
A K of C contingent of 4th degree members headed by Mindanao Deputy Sir Knight Reynaldo C. Trinidad and his wife, Lady Rodelma affirmed their Catholic faith with others from all over the Philippines and other 70 countries in the 51st International Eucharistic Congress held in Cebu City on January 24-31, 2016.
The Vice Supreme Master of the 4th degree (responsible for the whole Philippines) and a former Visayas Deputy, Sir Knight Dionisio R. Esteban, Jr. led the biggest number of Honor Guards ever assembled to grace an event in Cebu.
Almost 20,000 people, young and old joined the highlight which was the solemn procession of the Blessed Sacrament (a 3-hour 1.8 kms sacred walk) from Cebu Capitol Building where Abp. Diarmuod Martin, DD of Dublin, Ireland presided the Holy Mass concelebrated with 7 cardinals and several bishops and priests from different countries to Plaza Independencia.
“The Eucharist is at the heart of being a Catholic Christian. There is no church without the Eucharist,” Abp. Martin proclaimed.
In a separate talk, IEC Secretary General Bp Dennis Villorojo said that the “event would be the equivalent of Jesus Christ himself walking the streets of Cebu City…we accept Christ as the King of the city.” (Sir Knight Rogelio Andama, Jr.)
