Youth Marian Congress
“Among all the devotions approved by the Church, none has been favored by so many miracles as the devotion of the most Holy Rosary.” – Pope Pius IX
As part of the culmination activity for October, also known as the month of Rosary, the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Youth Apostolate conducted a Marian Congress on October 27, 2024, at San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel, Zone 1, Martyrville Purok 13, Barangay Ula, Tugbok District, Davao City.
Kristelle Billones, the Parish Youth Coordinator, greeted the participants in her opening remarks and outlined the purpose of the event: to enhance the youth’s understanding of the Rosary. She remarked, “Praying the rosary is very comforting and relaxing.” Julius Francis Rendon, one of the Youth Formation Heads, discussed the history of the Rosary, its significance as a spiritual weapon, and different methods of praying it. After each discussion, an interactive Q&A session took place, encouraging active participation from the youth.
The event wrapped up with a living rosary, where participants formed a large circle illuminated only by candles as they prayed together. (Kristelle D. Billones – Parish Youth Coordinator)
