Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish celebrated the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the entire church community last Sunday, September 8, 2024. The festivities began with a Mañanita, followed by a Holy Mass and a flower offering, which took place at each Mass before the final blessing.
The celebration continued with a Marian Cosplay event. Different titles of Mary were represented by various Zones: Zone 1 depicted Our Lady of Hope, Zone 2 represented Our Lady of Guadalupe, Zone 3 portrayed Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje, Zone 4 embodied Nuestra Señora del Pilar, Zone 5 showcased Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and Zone 7 illustrated Mary, Queen of Apostles. Rev. Fr. Leif Simbajon, the parish priest, expressed his gratitude for the event and the team behind it.
He also mentioned that, with the Holy Spirit’s guidance, he hopes to organize a Marian Cosplay Contest during the Parish Fiesta in December. Following the Cosplay, GKK Servant Leaders performed songs in honor of Mary, and the community danced to La Guadalupana; a mexican song for Our Lady of Guadalupe.
