San Francisco de Asis Parish Hosts Successful Dinner for a Cause
San Francisco de Asis Parish held its much-anticipated “Dinner for a Cause” event last July 20, 2024 at the Barangay Tagakpan Gym. The event was a resounding success, drawing approximately 500 guests, including parishioners, guests from the five zones of the parish, and various stakeholders, sponsors, and benefactors.
The evening commenced with an engaging opening program featuring the Joseph Marello Youth (JMY) Animators, who delighted the audience with their lively dance and song performances. Their talent and enthusiasm set the tone for a night of joy and camaraderie.
Following the program, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous dinner while being serenaded by an invited singer, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The highlight of the evening came when renowned comediennes Mrs. Wang and DD Ursula took the stage, filling the gym with laughter and joy with their hilarious comedy skits.
As the dinner drew to a close, excitement peaked with a raffle draw. The guests eagerly anticipated the announcement of winners for an array of coveted prizes, including free dental cleaning at Nombrado Dental Clinic, a free buffet at Hacienda Elsa, and a free buffet at Hikaru Cafe.
The “Dinner for a Cause” event aimed to raise funds for the ongoing projects of San Francisco de Asis Parish, particularly in preparation for its upcoming silver parochial anniversary. With the leadership of Rev. Fr. Mario B. Holmina, OSJ, together with Rev. Fr. Dennis P. Venus, OSJ, and Br. Eduardo Sibonga, OSJ, as the shepherd of the flock of Tagakpan, partnered with the overwhelming support from the attendees and sponsors highlighted the strong sense of synodality and dedication within the parish.
The Dinner for a Cause was indeed a true testament to synodality and the active participation of our parishioners. The Parish Priest, Fr. Holmina, the Parish EXECOM and the Parish Pastoral Council are deeply grateful for the generosity of everyone involved.
With the funds raised, San Francisco de Asis Parish is poised to continue its mission of service and community building, ensuring a bright future as it approaches its milestone anniversary. (Jeffren Miguel | Photos by SFDA SocCom)
