Newly Ordained Priests Answer the Call in the Diocese of Tagum
In the month of July, new priests were ordained in the Diocese of Tagum among them are: Fr. Mark Daryl Laranang, Fr. Joben Planteras, Fr. Caryl Yntong, and Fr. Janeil Arbotante. They have dedicated themselves humbly to serving the Church, committing to draw more souls to Jesus and Mary through preaching the Word of God and administering the Sacraments.
Priests play an indispensable role in communities worldwide, serving as instruments of God’s blessings through the sacraments, fostering spiritual growth, and providing guidance to the faithful.
During the ordination ceremony, Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, D.D. of Tagum emphasized three crucial points for the spiritual and pastoral journey of these new priests: obedience to ecclesiastical authority, prayerfulness, and devotion to Mother Mary.
Obedience to ecclesiastical authority ensures unity and coherence in the Church’s mission, allowing priests to effectively carry out their pastoral duties with integrity and fidelity. It demonstrates humility and trust in the hierarchical structure established by Christ.
Prayerfulness holds a central place in the life of a priest, enabling them to discern God’s will, draw strength, and maintain spiritual vitality. Through prayer, priests deepen their relationship with God and serve as spiritual guides for their communities.
Devotion to Mother Mary serves as a source of inspiration and protection, guiding priests in their vocation. Mary’s example of faithfulness and surrender to God’s will strengthens their commitment to serving with love and compassion.
The priestly vocation is a lifelong commitment, shaped by prayerful discernment and dedicated service. It embodies the transformative power of faith and service within the community, enriching lives and nurturing souls.
In conclusion, the newly ordained priests in the Diocese of Tagum exemplify unwavering devotion and compassion in answering their spiritual calling. Their commitment to prayer, obedience, and fidelity illuminates the path toward holiness and deeper communion with God. (Sara Mae Sotomil – DiTaSCom)
