St. Francis Regional Major Seminary Marks 30th Commencement Exercises

The halls of St. Francis Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao (REMASE) echoed with reverence and jubilation as 15 graduates gathered to celebrate their Masteral Baccalaureate Mass on May 24, 2024. This momentous occasion, symbolized the culmination of years of academic dedication and spiritual growth.

Sem. Clark Dipotado, speaking in an interview with DXGN 89.9 Spirit FM-Davao prior to the mass, expressed deep gratitude to God for guiding them to this milestone. “First and foremost, I am very grateful sa Ginoo tungod kay naabot mi niining milestone of our academic studies,” Sem. Clark humbly remarked, embodying the spirit of humility and faith that pervaded the seminary community.

The homily delivered by Fr. Reynaldo Retardo, Seminary Rector, addressed a pressing societal issue—the legalization of divorce in the Philippines. Fr. Retardo emphasized the sacredness of marriage as a covenant, stressing the inseparable and indissoluble bond between couples. Drawing parallels to the graduates’ vocation, Fr. Retardo reminded them of the commitment and steadfast love required in their chosen path.

A touching moment ensued as the graduates offered flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary, a symbol of devotion and gratitude for her guidance and intercession.

Seminary Mark Anthony Idyo conveyed a heartfelt message from the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Most Rev. John Brown D.D., representing the Pope’s presence and blessings on this auspicious occasion. The message underscored the graduates’ mission to spread love, compassion, and faith in their communities.

The mass transitioned seamlessly into the graduation ceremony, where the graduates were formally recognized for their accomplishments. As they stepped forward to receive their degrees, a sense of purpose and determination filled the air, signaling the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
