One for the Lord!

In a solemn and spiritually uplifting ceremony, the Diocese of Mati celebrated the Rites of Investiture and the Admission to Candidacy for Holy Orders on the 8th day of June 2024 at the San Nicolas De Tolentino Cathedral. The celebration, which marked a significant milestone in the spiritual journey of the seminarians, was presided over by Most Rev. Bishop Abel C. Apigo, D.D.

In his homily, Bishop Apigo emphasized the importance of dedication, humility, and service in the life of those pursuing the path of priesthood. He encouraged the seminarians to remain focus and steadfast in their faith and to embrace the responsibilities that come with their vocational journey.

Seven newly graduated philosophy seminarians received the Rites of Investiture. This ceremony signifies their formal spiritual entry into the next step of their priestly formation. The seminarians honored in the investiture were:

  1. Vincent A. Briones
  2. Vergel T. Bunani
  3. Ricky Jhon M. Cañete
  4. Ron Kyle Leovic T. Evardone
  5. Peter Paul Maria B. Lindo
  6. Christian Mark L. Macombo
  7. Ivan Clark L. Palabao

Additionally, Seminarian Bryan Bermejo was admitted to Candidacy for Holy Orders, a most important step that formally recognizes his intent and readiness to continue his formation towards the priesthood. Family members, friends, clergy, and the faithful of the Diocese of Mati gathered in the cathedral to witness and support the seminarians.

Further, the Eucharistic celebration and the rites performed are truly a testament to the enduring faith and to foster vocations within the Diocese of Mati. Indeed, as these seminarians move forward in their formation, the Diocese of Mati stands united in prayer and support, eagerly anticipating the day when they will serve as ordained ministers of the Church.
